If you aren’t doing this already, maybe it’s time to.

On a busy day after working out, I combine both my protein shake and coffee in one. And it tastes good. Just brew your favorite coffee, blend with milk and your preferred protein powder.

Whether you typically have your protein and coffee before or after a workout, try combining both one day in a Protein Coffee…

Tips for Making Protein Coffee

Coffee

I used a moka pot to brew coffee. Feel free to use your favorite coffee brewing method.

If you want to make espresso, but don’t have an espresso machine at home, the brewing tool I recommend is the moka pot. It yields concentrated, espresso like coffee that works well in coffee recipes that require espresso.

For the coffee beans, I chose Laird Superfood coffee with functional mushrooms. You can read a little more about mushroom coffee – what it is and what it tastes like here

Milk

I used almond milk. You can use your preferred milk or milk alternative.

Protein Powder

I used Bone Broth Protein. Again, you can use whichever protein powder you typically use or prefer. I also switch between protein powder and a meal replacement powder like Young Living’s Balance Complete

Toppings

I put a sprinkle of ground cinnamon on top of my protein coffee.

Blending the ingredients in a blender will result in a little froth on top. If you want to top your protein coffee with a little something, try adding ground cinnamon like I did or a little cocoa powder. Or add a pinch or two of either into the blender to add a little flavor.
