Cafellissimo Paperless Pour Over Coffee Maker Review

Nowadays it is not uncommon to find the pour-over coffee brewing technique being used in coffee shops across America. Pour-over brewing is not new. It was invented in 1908 by Melitta Bentz in Germany.

In theory, pour-over coffee makers work in a similar fashion to a drip coffee maker, but the result can be quite distinct. There are several factors to consider to ensure you get a superior artisanal cup of coffee – mainly, the coffee grind size, water temperature, brewing time, and filter type.

While there are a variety of pour-over coffee makers available in the market, the Cafellissimo stainless steel pour over coffee maker has successfully kept an elegant single-piece brewing method for the minimalist in mind.

Design

Cafellissimo is a single-piece coffee maker that eliminates the need for anything besides coffee, water, and a cup. It has a built-in permanent stainless steel micro mesh filter that will brew a great cup of coffee without the need to buy paper filters.

This ensures that no natural essences and oils are absorbed from the coffee beans like a regular paper filter, giving you rich and bold coffee every single time. The Cafellissimo pour over coffee maker is made to fit most cups and mugs, which mean you will have one less utensil to clean after brewing.

Quality

Cafellissimo is made of 18/8 grade stainless steel polished to a mirror finish. The material is sturdy and solid enough that you can toss it in the dishwasher. However, I always hand-wash my coffee gadgets to make sure they are in tip-top condition and perform well at every use. I’ve also taken great pride in living a more eco-friendly lifestyle.

Ease of use

Cafellissimo is simple and easy to use. Simply add coffee and pour water slowly in a circular motion until you’ve obtained the desired amount of coffee. Keep in mind, it does need time and patience to do pour over right. Also, I strongly suggest using a gooseneck kettle to pour water for better control and maneuver.

Maintenance

Cafellissimo is easy to clean, and the filter is reusable. The permanent stainless steel filter won’t stain no matter how many cups of coffee you strain through, and it will taste the same as long as you clean it thoroughly after brewing. Wash it and simply re-use it. A soft bristle toothbrush might be helpful in removing ground particles that clog the micro mesh filter.

Verdict

Convenience is not exactly the word I’d use for pour-over coffee, but Cafellissimo is a good starting point for those who are new to the pour over brewing method. While it is not particularly indestructible, it can produce an impressive cup of coffee that allows the flavors and aromas to speak for themselves without any additives.

If you want to achieve a more consistent brew, Cafellissimo pour-over coffee maker should be your first choice. Best of all, it is reasonably priced!

Check it out at Amazon.com. It’s less than $18.
