The Amazing Breckenridge White Coffee

Your choices for a morning coffee fix in the wildly popular ski resort town of Breckenridge Colorado are numerous, although, there’s only one that roasts their coffee in-house.

The Cabin Coffee Company is the place to be. The shop also has a trademarked blend called White Coffee. It is a superb highly caffeinated roast used in several specialty mixed beverages that are unique to the franchise. Their motto is… Just Be Happy … and Have Fun.

Dave Peters is the owner and has been serving coffee and residing in Breck for the last four years. He is from the midwest and moved to open a franchise known as Cabin Coffee Company. Dave is the owner of one of only sixteen franchised locations, and it is the only one west of the Missouri River.

I had the opportunity to try several types of coffee prepared at this specialty coffee shop.

The Palomino

The Palomino consists of 2 shots of white coffee espresso, white Ghirardelli chocolate, and steamed half & half. If you’re a white chocolate lover, you’ll revel in the deep rich flavor of this one, which is reminiscent of drinking a white chocolate bar.

Another notable drink using the white coffee blend is the Tumbleweed. It has two shots of white coffee espresso, caramel sauce, steamed milk, and is topped with whipped cream, more caramel, and a sprinkle of sea salt. Just like it’s counterpart, it is divine in aroma, flavor, and certainly does the job for what I drink coffee for…. waking up!

Cabin Coffee offers single origin roasts in ¼, ½, and 1 lb. quantities. Choices are a variety of light, medium, medium dark, and dark. Origins include South American (Brazilian, Columbian, & Peruvian FTO), Central American (Costa Rican, Mexican FTO, Nicaraguan, Guatemalan), African (Tanzanian, Ethiopian, Kenya AA) and Indonesian (East Timor FTO, Java, Somalian).

Other excellent caffeinated drinks are offered as well including hot espresso, cold press espresso, latte, mocha, and more.

Just like so many other residents of Breckenridge, Dave came here for the scenery, which is nothing less than magnificent.

Entering the café, you rise above the main street as you climb a short flight of steps off the sidewalk. This affords a westward-looking vantage point of the southern end of what’s known as the 10-mile range. Peaks eight, nine, & ten of the ski resorts mountains are in view from the front, boasting a million-dollar view over the adjacent structures across the street. It’s a perfect place to relax and enjoy a fabulous specialty or drip coffee.

Cabin Coffee offers a cozy seating area that’s warm and inviting, complete with a fireplace for cold winter mornings.

If one of these franchises came to my town, I’d frequent it for a delightful caffeine boost with white coffee. Indeed, the location and view in Breckenridge adds to the experience at Cabin Coffee, but the quality and choices make it a great place to rev up wherever you might find the franchise.
