What is a latte?

If you’ve ever wondered the difference between regular coffee and lattes and other drinks like cappuccinos, macchiatos and americanos check out our guide to the popular types of coffee drinks.

Lattes are espresso based coffee drinks. For a coffee to be called a latte, it needs a shot or two of espresso, plus lots of steamed milk. The ratio is about ⅓ espresso and ⅔ steamed milk.

Then you can add all sorts of flavors like white chocolate and raspberry in this recipe. Or pumpkin spice, honey or cinnamon, the flavor options are endless.

Tips for Making White Chocolate Raspberry Latte

Espresso

I made espresso using a moka pot

Using a moka pot is an easy way to make a concentrated, espresso like coffee.

It’s an alternative to making espresso without an espresso machine. (Check out our guide for making espresso without an espresso machine if you don’t have one at home.)

White Chocolate Sauce

I used Torani White Chocolate Sauce

I use this brand often for mixing flavors into my coffee. It mixes well in cold and hot coffee.

Raspberry Syrup

I used Torani Raspberry Syrup

You can also try making your own syrup by heating fresh raspberries and sugar over the stovetop. Stir and strain.

Milk

I used almond milk.

Feel free to use whole or skim milk. Or use your favorite non dairy alternatives like oat milk or almond milk.

Toppings

Adding toppings is optional. I added store bought whipped cream and fresh raspberries.

You can use the same as I did or make your own whipped cream at home using heavy whipping cream.

Just whisk it on medium speed using an electric mixer until stiff peaks form and you have homemade whipped cream.

Optional: Ice

To make an iced version of this white chocolate raspberry latte, simply add ice cubes.

If it’s an especially warm day and you don’t want watered down coffee, so try coffee ice cubes. It’s as easy as freezing coffee in ice cube trays. This can be leftover coffee that you made from that morning.

You can also add coffee syrups and other flavors to each cube.
