Red Velvet Latte Ingredients

Red Velvet Latte Instructions

Step 1

Pour raspberry juice into a coffee cup.

You can opt for beetroot juice in this recipe, though it will give your red velvet latte a slightly different shade of red.

Step 2

Put cream cheese in, mix well then pour in maple syrup.

Step 3

Pull an espresso shot.

Don’t worry if you don’t have an espresso machine or aren’t familiar with one of those professional-looking devices.

A Moka pot, Aeropress, French press, or a Keurig will work just fine.

Just make sure to change the water-to-ground ratio to make your coffee taste stronger and more concentrated. Increase the amount of ground but keep the same amount of water.

Step 4

Pour the espresso in and mix well.

Step 5

Froth milk of choice.

If you don’t have an espresso machine with a steam wand, use a handheld milk frother or even a mason jar. Yes, you can use a mason jar or an empty pasta sauce jar, French press, or handheld milk frother to froth warm milk.

No matter which frothing method you use, be sure to swirl your milk well before the pour. If you still see some bubbles, gently tap the pitcher on a countertop a couple of times and they should go away.

Step 6

Let’s pour!

If you’re a beginner, we suggest a simple heart pattern. Here’s how:

  1. Hold your cup at an angle and begin the pour. Pour from a reasonably high distance and go slow. You want the milk to dive beneath the surface of the coffee.
  2. When the cups are about half full, lower the pitcher and pour a little faster.
  3. When you see milk starting to float and mark the surface with a dot, continue to pour at a steady pace until the cup is almost full.
  4. When it is nearly full, raise the pitcher and pour at a higher distance once again, moving towards your thumb. This will finish your “heart” pattern.

A red velvet latte is an excellent alternative to a regular latte in the mornings. You can also serve it as an afternoon pick-me-up and an after-dinner non-alcohol digestif.
