If you haven’t had a Kit Kat before, it’s a candy bar made with layers of wafer and covered in milk chocolate. They come in 4 or 2 bars that you can break apart.

The classic version is milk chocolate, but there are various other flavors too. Kit Kat is popular in Japan and they have several flavors unique to the Japanese market like Strawberry Cheesecake or Apple Pie.

There are also limited edition flavors like a Valentine’s Day Raspberry and new DUOs (Mint Chocolate and Mocha.)

In this Kit Kat Coffee Milkshake, we’ll use the classic version, but aren’t opposed to trying different variations!

Tips for Making Kit Kat Coffee Milkshake

Coffee

I used cold brew coffee concentrate, which I made at home.

You can also use espresso made with an espresso machine, or check out our guide to making espresso without an espresso machine. The goal is to make a concentrated coffee.

I had cold brew concentrate already in the refrigerator so I used it. Here’s how I made cold brew using a French press

  1. Grind coffee beans coarsely.
  2. Put coffee bean and water in a French press. I use a 3 to 1 ratio. 3 parts water, 1 part coarsely ground coffee.
  3. Place the lid on the French press, but don’t press the plunger down.
  4. Set aside for 12-15 hours, then press plunger down and pour into the mason jar to store in the refrigerator.

Ice Cream

I used chocolate ice cream.

You can also use vanilla ice cream or even coffee flavored ice cream for even more coffee flavor.

And you can also make your own at home. Check out our 4 ingredient no churn coffee ice cream recipe. All you need to do is use an electric mixer to mix sweetened condensed milk, heavy whipping cream, instant coffee and vanilla extract. Then pour the mixture into a loaf pan and freeze overnight.

Kit Kat

I used classic chocolate Kit Kat bars.

Have you had other flavored Kit Kats before? I’d like to try making different flavored milkshake like these other Kit Kat flavors, especially some of the Japanese flavors:

Toppings

I topped the milkshake with whipped cream, more Kit Kat and Kit Kat pieces and a drizzle of chocolate sauce.
