How to Make Reishi Mushroom Chocolate Lattes

If you haven’t tried mushroom in your coffee yet, now’s your chance.

There’s a coffee trend taking the world by storm – adding mushroom to coffee.

If you haven’t heard of mushroom coffee, you soon will. And if you’re not a fan of mushrooms, you’ll still want to give this a try. Mushroom coffee is not what you think it is. You won’t find any mushroom pieces floating around. It doesn’t taste like the fungus, nor are there earthy or musky flavors in your cup of joe.

Is Mushroom Coffee good for you?

Mushroom coffee gives you the health benefits of coffee along with the remarkable benefits of mushrooms. According to Dr. Mercola, mushrooms are:

great sources of protein, fiber, B vitamins (especially niacin), vitamin C, calcium, minerals, and selenium. They also contain antioxidants that are unique to mushrooms, such as ergothioneine, which according to studies is a highly powerful antioxidant.

Not all mushrooms are the same.

Different types of mushroom will produce different flavor profiles as well as various health benefits. Some are known to have medicinal value.

The most common types of medicinal mushroom are Chaga, Reishi, Cordyceps, and Lion’s Mane. The nutrients of different mushrooms often overlap but are slightly distinct. So you can experiment with different kinds to see which one you like the most.

According to studies, Reishi mushroom has one of the longest track records in traditional medicine usage. The mushroom has anti-inflammatory and anti-aging properties, which can help our immune systems and prevent and common illnesses. An article by WebMD stated, Reishi mushroom contain

chemicals that seem to have a variety of potentially beneficial effects, including activity against tumors (cancer) and beneficial effects on the immune system.

That sounds amazing!
