Starbucks released a few seasonal winter beverages and food to their menu.

One is the Honey Almondmilk Cold Brew, which was added as cold coffee continues to be a favorite at Starbucks. And I’ll show you how to make it at home.

(The other is the Pistachio Latte, which we also made at home!)

What is Starbucks Honey Almondmilk Cold Brew?

The Starbucks website describes the Honey Almondmilk Cold Brew coffee as, “Starbucks Cold Brew lightly sweetened with honey and topped off with almondmilk for a balanced taste in every delicious sip.”

The ingredients are Ice, Brewed Coffee, Almondmilk and Honey Blend.

To make it at home, we’ll brew our own cold brew coffee (you can use a Starbucks coffee bean and grind it yourself at home to make it almost like what you’d get at Starbucks!) Then we’ll mix it with honey, add ice and top it with almond milk.

It’s so easy and a great way to start the day or as a midday pick me up.

Tips for Making a Honey Almondmilk Cold Brew

Cold Brew Coffee

Making cold brew coffee takes time (12-15 hours!) It’s easy but you’ll just need to plan ahead. I usually have a mason jar of cold brew coffee stored in the fridge and it can be kept there for about a week.

Check out our guide to making cold brew coffee (with 3 different, easy methods.)

Here’s how I make it with a French press, which I used for this recipe:

  1. Grind 1 cup of coffee beans coarsely. I use Capresso Burr Grinder. I used Stone Cold Jo Cold Brew Coffee Blend. (Note that you can use your favorite coffee beans to make cold brew coffee. You do not need to use cold brew specific coffee beans.)
  2. Add coffee beans and water to a French press. I usually do a 1:3 ratio. One cup of ground coffee to 3 cups of water.
  3. Mix the ground coffee and water.
  4. Put the French press cover on but do not push the plunger down. Leave the French press aside and let the coffee beans steep for 12-15 hours.
  5. After 12-15 hours, press the plunger down and pour the cold brew coffee into a mason jar to store in the refrigerator.

Honey

It looks like Starbucks uses a honey blend, which according to the ingredients list on their website, consists of Honey, Water, Natural Flavors, Potassium Sorbate, Xanthan Gum, Citric Acid.

I chose to use raw honey, Nature Nate’s 100% Pure, Raw & Unfiltered Honey.

Ice Cubes

While Starbucks and I used regular water based ice cubes, you can also use coffee ice cubes. This is a coffee ‘hack’ to avoid ever having diluted, watery coffee.

Instead of putting water in ice cube trays, freeze coffee. This can be extra coffee from your morning pot or freezing more cold brew coffee. You can also add flavor to each cube, like vanilla syrup.

Almond Milk

You can use unsweetened or flavored almond milk like the Silk Vanilla Almond Milk that I used.

How to Make a Honey Almondmilk Cold Brew

  1. Make cold brew coffee concentrate. Steep coarsely ground coffee beans (I used Stone Cold Jo) in a French press or empty jar for at least 12 hours.
  2. Add cold brew coffee concentrate to a glass. Add a little water to dilute the concentrate.
  3. Mix in honey and add ice.
  4. Pour almond milk

Then strain or push the French press plunger down and pour into a mason jar to store in the refrigerator.
