How to Brew Himalayan Sea Salt Caramel Coffee Using a French Press

Flavored coffee lovers, meet the Himalayan Sea Salt Caramel coffee.

As a flavored coffee lover, the Himalayan sea salt caramel flavor is right up my alley. This perfect blend of a sweet and salty taste creates the perfect flavored coffee; French press flavored coffee to be exact.

Coffee made with a French press is heavy and robust and it tends to be smoother and more vibrant.

The Ingredients

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

Measure your coffee and water using this list below.

  1. To yield 2 cups (8 oz) of brewed coffee, measure 270 grams of water and 18 grams of ground coffee.
  2. 3 cups (12 oz) of brewed coffee would require 390 grams of water and 26 grams of ground coffee.
  3. For 4 cups (16 oz) of brewed coffee, measure 510 grams of water and 34 grams of ground coffee.
  4. 6 cups (24 oz) of brewed coffee would require 750 grams of water and 50 grams of ground coffee.
  5. To yield 8 cups (32 oz) of brewed coffee, you’ll need to measure 975 grams of water and 65 grams of ground coffee.

I suggest starting with a 1:15 coffee to water ratio (that is, 1 part of coffee to 15 part of water). For this recipe, weigh 34 grams (1/4 cup) of coffee and aimed for 16 ounces (4 cups) of extraction yield.

Step 2

Weigh and boil 510 grams (2.16 cups) + 100 grams (0.42 cups) of water so you can spare some for rinsing. Use filtered water if possible.

Step 3

Rinse the carafe and plunger of the French press with hot water. Discard the water.

Step 4

Add ground coffee into the French press.

Step 5

Pour in 4 tablespoons of Himalayan sea salt caramel syrup.

Step 6

Pour half of the hot water over ground coffee and start the timer for 4 minutes.

Step 7

Stir gently after 30 seconds.

Step 8

Pour in the remaining hot water. Wait until the timer hits 4:00.

Step 9

Press plunger down to filter the coffee and pour into your favorite cup or mug immediately.

Talk about one tasty beverage! The Himalayan sea salt caramel coffee is one you should try.

Note: I used Around the World Eight Syrups. You may want to try Monin Salted Caramel Syrup if the around the world syrups aren’t available.
