If you’ve been on a flight with Delta Airlines, one of the complimentary snack options on most of their routes is Lotus Biscoff cookies. They’ve been serving them on their flights since the late 1980s.

Nowadays, these Biscoff cookies are branded with the Delta logo and name. So when I was on a Delta flight and got one of these cookie packs, I thought it tastes great with coffee. Why not find a way to add it into coffee?

That’s where cookie butter comes in.

What is Cookie Butter?

Cookie Butter is a spread made with pulverized cookies and other ingredients to make it spreadable. One of the most popular brands is by Lotus, the maker of Biscoff cookies, which they’ve made into cookie butter.

There are also other brands you can find (like Trader Joe’s is another popular one) or you can also attempt to make your own at home. It’ll take a bit of work but you’ll need to grind cookies, then combine it with oil, syrup, and other flavoring and heat it.

Tips for Making Cookie Butter Latte

Espresso

I used illy Classico coffee beans and chose to brew coffee with my moka pot. This yields a concentrated, espresso-like coffee if you don’t have an espresso machine at home. (Check out our guide to making espresso without an espresso machine.)

But feel free to use your favorite coffee brewing method if you don’t have either at home.

Milk

I used almond milk. Feel free to use your preferred milk or favorite milk alternative.

I heated it using a milk frother on just the heat setting. You could also use a frothing setting and top your cookie butter latte with frothed milk.

Cookie Butter

You can find Lotus Biscoff cookie butter in your local grocery store or on Amazon. Trader Joe’s also has their own version if you have a location near you.

Make sure to use the creamy version and not crunchy. The crunchy cookie butter has chunks of Lotus Biscoff cookies in it. While it tastes good, it’s harder to stir into your espresso and you may end up with pieces of cookie in your latte.

These are optional. Use them to top your latte with whipped cream. Or eat them alongside your latte. You may be able to find them in your local grocery store. If not, Amazon has them too.

Delta Airlines has been serving Biscoff cookies since the late 1980s. I had my Delta branded Biscoff cookies from a recent Delta flight so I enjoyed it with my latte.
