According to Sunnyside Post it’s the place Robert de Niro filmed “Another Night” because of the décor and ambience that portrays the late 70s and 80s.

Family-owned Alpha Donuts has the same cook for over 20 years. Taso said he is not the owner but loves working in Alpha Donuts because he gets to talk to the same customers almost every day and he likes the familiar environment. He pointed out the menu written on the wall is original. The only changes made are the prices.
This no frill and simple place offers an experience of old American establishments. For that we would highly recommend this place for coffee any time throughout the day.
Coffee: Type, price and taste
Drip brew coffee just like homemade coffee costs only $1.25 per mug with unlimited free refills. This is the cheapest place we have ever seen in New York City with free refills.
Boston crème or coconut doughnuts go well with the black coffee. Each doughnut costs $1. Unfortunately to cut cost they no longer make their own doughnuts despite the name – Alpha Donuts.
Or get a fish burger for $5 and drain it down with the coffee.

Take the 7 train and stop at 46th Street/Bliss Street station.

Sunnyside Queens NYC is a very diverse neighborhood in New York. Here you can eat around the world in one day. Grab an American doughnut and coffee at Alpha Donuts, head over to Souk El Shater for cheap Lebanese lunch, mid afternoon snack of fried liver cubes from Turkish Grill, a Romanian Dinner at Romanian Garden and end the day at Bliss Street Station Irish Bar.
