Ever heard of Banana Milk? This Banana Milk Coffee recipe is inspired by the Korean banana flavored drink.

I’ve taken inspiration from popular Starbucks coffee drinks and also classics like cappuccinos and americanos. This time, I’ve taken inspiration from a Korean beverage, banana milk.

What is Banana Milk?

Banana milk is a product produced by Binggrae, a food company established in 1967 and based in South Korea.

Their most popular product is banana milk, but they are also known for their ice cream and fermented milk products.

Banana Flavored Milk launched in 1974 in the same yellow conical shaped container that you can find today. In 2010, they started making it with real banana juice.

The Binggrae website describes their milk as the number one processed milk with a unique taste and bottle shape loved by everyone.

And you can tell that it’s a much loved beverage.

And by the way, if you’re curious to know what it tastes like, you can purchase Binggrae Banana Milk on Amazon.

Tips for Making Banana Milk Coffee

How to Make Banana Milk

To make banana milk, you’ll need to blend water, milk and one banana in a blender. I used oat milk. You can use whole milk or any of your favorite plant based milks. This recipe will yield about 1 cup of banana milk.

You’ll want to use a ripe banana, as this will make the banana milk sweet. If you find that it’s not sweet enough or your banana just isn’t ripe enough, mix in maple syrup or honey. Blend and taste to add sweetener accordingly.

Espresso

I used illy Intenso whole beans and brewed it in my stove top moka pot

To make espresso, you’ll need to use an espresso machine. However, if you don’t have an espresso machine at home, you can still make a concentrated espresso like coffee by using either a moka pot, French press or AeroPress. Read our guide to making espresso without an espresso machine
