The Best Compact 4 Cup Coffee Makers for Your Kitchen Countertop

Let’s take a look at 5 of the best 4 cup coffee makers…

On average, Americans drink 2 to 3 cups of coffee a day. Statista Global Consumer Survey reported in 2017 that 44% of Americans drink 2 to 3 cups, 16% have 4 to 5 cups, 5% drink 6 to 8 cups. The data is based on 7 oz cups, so if you drink 14 oz per day, that is roughly 2 cups of coffee.

If you fall into these categories of coffee drinkers or if your household has 2 adults that need 1 to 2 cups per person per time, a 4 cup coffee maker will fit the bill for your coffee fix.

Let’s take a look at 5 of the best 4 cup coffee makers we found online. These aren’t just drip coffee makers. We want to show you a variety of 4-cup coffee makers that are available now.

4. Farberware 4-Cup Percolator

For over 120 years, Farberware has been serving American families with kitchenware, and it’s one of the first few companies that introduced coffee percolators to American kitchens. Coffee percolators were patented by an Illinois farmer named Hanson Goodrich in 1889. The percolator is said to have been invented by an American soldier that resided in Paris before 1889.

Farberware patented the automatic coffee percolator in 1957, and a 1966 electric percolator was on display at the National Museum of American History. Take a look at the photograph at the Smithsonian National Museum’s website if you can’t go and see it in person.

Today’s Farberware percolator is made similar to the chrome plated, black plastic molding and detachable cord like the 1966 model.

This beautifully designed pour over coffee maker with a cork band by Bodum makes 34 oz, which is around four 8 oz cup coffee. It comes with a stainless steel mesh filter. The carafe is made of heat-resistant borosilicate glass, and the cork band allows you to hold it without getting burnt by the hot coffee.

To brew, add ground coffee to the permanent filter, slowly pour hot water in circulation over the ground coffee, allowing the water to filter through the coffee. Then remove the filter and insert the plastic lid. Enjoy.
